Bringing London’s Best to Salt Lake City
Since 2009, National Theatre Live has brought acclaimed British theatre to over 5.5 million viewers worldwide, featuring productions like Phèdre with Helen Mirren, Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch, and Yerma with Billie Piper. Each show is filmed live with cameras placed to give cinema audiences the "best seat in the house."
The Tanner Humanities Center began screening National Theatre Live in 2010, now hosted at Salt Lake Film Society’s Broadway Centre Cinemas. Proceeds support Tanner’s K-12 theatre outreach, enriching arts education for over 500 Utah students annually at partner schools like Herriman High and Whittier Elementary.

Dr. Strangelove

This explosively funny satire, about a rogue U.S General who triggers a nuclear attack, is led by a world-renowned creative team including Emmy Award-winner Armando Iannucci and Olivier Award-winner Sean Foley.
A production from Patrick Myles and David Luff. Based on the motion picture directed by Stanley Kubrick, screenplay by Stanley Kubrick, Terry Southern and Peter George, based on the book Red Alert by Peter George.

The Importance of Being Earnest

While assuming the role of a dutiful guardian in the country, Jack lets loose in town under a false identity. Meanwhile, his friend Algy adopts a similar facade. Hoping to impress two eligible ladies, the gentlemen find themselves caught in a web of lies they must carefully navigate.
Max Webster (Life of Pi) directs this hilarious story of identity, impersonation and romance, filmed live from the National Theatre in London.

Filmed live from The Old Vic in London during a sold out run in 2019, Matthew Warchus (Matilda the Musical) directs this giddy and suprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.

Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
